Raymond Whitaker has been a General Partner of EuclidSR Partners, LP since its inception in January 2000. He began venture investing full-time as Vice President of SR One, Limited, in January 1997. Prior to his investing career, Dr. Whitaker has held a number of business development positions with a variety of companies and organizations. He was Director of Worldwide Business Development for SmithKline Beecham, where he was responsible for negotiating a number of significant R&D collaborations. Prior to that he was Director of Corporate Development, and a member of the executive committee, for Milan-based Recordati SpA, where he was responsible for several international M&A transactions. Dr. Whitaker had also spent eight years in Paris in corporate and business development roles for Laboratoires Delagrange (now part of Sanofi-Aventis), where he was responsible for establishing its UK subsidiary. Prior to that, he was Director at the Paris office of the Irish Industrial Development Authority. Dr. Whitaker has also served on the Boards of Avalon Pharmaceuticals, Xenogen Corporation, Kosan Biosciences, KuDOS Pharmaceuticals Ltd, and WiseWire Corporation. He holds an MBA and also received a PhD in biochemistry from the National University of Ireland, University College Dublin.
