Dr. Sabatelli earned his PhD in organic chemistry from Yale University. He joins Rib-X from Merck & Co. where he was Assistant Patent Counsel and had extensive experience with patent preparation, strategic IP portfolio management, and IP litigation. He had worldwide patent responsibility for Merck's billion dollar osteoporosis franchise and was a key member of the business development team responsible for the highly-successful launch of the Once-Weekly FOSAMAX® product. Prior to joining Merck, he was Patent Counsel at the Procter & Gamble Company where he managed the patent docket for new polymer development and hair and skin care products. Dr. Sabatelli began his professional career at P&G's Miami Valley Laboratories as an R&D scientist before he moved to their patent department and earned his JD. His initial R&D work at P&G led to a dozen patents.
