Dr. Moore is the
Sterling Professor of Chemistry at Yale University. He was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 1997. His career research focus in the area of Biophysical Chemistry and the structure and function of macromolecular assemblies has produced an invaluable understanding of RNA-ribosome structure and function for both the academic and pharmaceutical community. In 2001, Dr. Moore together with Drs. Steitz and Noller received the Rosenstiel Award for Distinguished Work in Basic Medical Sciences for their research on the ribosome.
